Harnessing Youth Potential through Dynamic Spirituality
Chinmaya Yuva Kendra (CHYK) is the global youth wing of Chinmaya Mission. It aims to empower youth with the vision, values and dynamism for success in all fields. The CHYK San Jose chapter is a community of young seekers in the San Francisco Bay Area.
The group meets weekly on Thursdays 7:30-8:30PM PST on ZOOM for discussion on Vedantic texts guided by Chinmaya Mission San Jose resident spiritual teacher, Br. Soham Chaitanya. The group also meets occasionally for social events including hikes, yoga, bhajan jams and more!
Current Study Group
In this chapter, Bhagavan Krishna describes to Arjuna how one's convictions shapes thoughts and actions and the three levels of śraddha (faith), sātvik, rājasik, tāmasik, through four indicators, āhāra (food), yajña (work), tapas (austerity), dāna (charity). Prior to discussion, we listen to a discourse from Sohamji on a set of verses from Ch. 17. In discussion, we reflect deeper on these verses to put them into practice and understand how our śraddha should be or what convictions we should develop.*Contact us for the ZOOM Code
